I am 21-year-old woman. My boyfriend doesn’t like to kiss me. He always complains that my mouth is stinking. What is the solution?

Halitosis or bad breath is mainly caused due to poor oral hygiene, coated tongue, smoking, consumption of certain foodstuffs and many more. Bad breath may also be a result of acidity and infection in your gums. It is advisable for you to visit your dentist and find out the causative factor which would help to decide the correct treatment options like scaling and polishing, deep cleaning, gum surgery, and many more.

I am a 20-year-old girl. My front teeth are out. I need a perfect smile but I don't want braces. What is the other option?

There are two options. One is aligners, also called invisible trays. These cause micro-movements in the teeth and gradually align them over a period of time. You will have to wear such aligners / invisible trays for a specifi c duration and follow the proper protocols. The second option is smile designing. This can be done using laminates, veneers, crowns, etc. An appropriate treatment plan can be suggested only after you visit a dentist and a thorough evaluation is done.

My teeth look yellow and dark. I don't like the shade of my teeth. It is impacting my selfconfidence. Can you suggest some treatment options?

Your teeth turn yellow because of the stains either intrinsic (inside the teeth) or extrinsic (outer surface) of the teeth. After understanding the nature of the stains i.e. complete clinical analysis by your dentist, various treatment options can be suggested such as:
a) Scaling and polishing
b) Teeth whitening (bleaching)
c) Composite laminates
d) Veneers
e) Root canal treatment with crowns, etc.

A year ago, my mother had all her teeth removed as suggested by our village doctor. Now she has difficulty eating, has lost weight, has little appetite and feels weak all the time. Can you suggest the best treatment option for her?

The best treatment option can be suggested only after her complete clinical check-up, dental X-rays, and knowledge of her medical history. This condition of missing all teeth is called complete anodontia. Listed below are a few options:
A) REMOVABLE OPTIONS:
• Complete denture
• Implant-supported denture
B) FIXED OPTION:
Dental implants with fixed teeth Treatment options will also depend on the availability of the patient and budget

My front teeth are shifting and moving. I sought dental treatment from a dentist who recommended splinting. However, even after undergoing the splinting procedure, my teeth are showing signs of movement again within just one month. What is a permanent solution to this?

If a splinting procedure has failed, there is a high chance that there is insufficient surrounding alveolar bone to hold the teeth in place. You may be suffering from chronic or aggressive periodontitis. Suggest you come and consult us, we will take X-rays and a CBCT scan and then give you the accurate treatment plan. If we get sufficient bone we can plan for dental implants which will be a permanent solution. If there is insufficient bone we can consider some form of bone grafting followed by dental implants.

My mother is 65 years old and has diabetes, with an HbA1C level of 8. Over time, she experienced the loss of several teeth, which were extracted by her local dentist in the village. Can she get implants done? How much does each implant cost?

Yes, she can get implants done. Suggest you get your mom for a thorough clinical examination. There are certain types of dental implants which are specifically designed for compromised bones and patients with diabetes. As long as the diabetes is controlled and sugar level does not fluctuate much we can do implants. These implants are active implants, German made and are a bit expensive compared to regular ones. The price for each implant varies from Rs 70,000 to Rs 1 lakh.

I am 69 years old and facing difficulties due to multiple missing teeth, as I am unable to properly bite and chew food. My dentist provided me with dentures, but unfortunately, they are uncomfortable and tend to come out while I talk or eat, causing embarrassment, especially during social events. What do you suggest? Can I have fixed teeth at this age?

Age is no barrier to having fixed teeth. It is advisable to get a CBCT scan of both your jaws, which would give us the current condition of the existing teeth and bone. There are many treatment options available:
DENTAL BRIDGES: Your existing teeth are used as anchors if they are healthy.
IMPLANT-SUPPORTED TEETH: If all the medical parameters are in control, dental implants are placed in your jaw bone and fixed teeth are given taking its support.
IMPLANT-SUPPORTED DENTURE: If your available jaw bone is less, then a few implants are placed in the bone and a denture is given on them.
